The 9th Annual Whanganui Artist Open Studio Weekends!
The Whanganui region is set to host the biggest Whanganui Artist Open Studios ever with over 60 artist and arts collectives throwing open their doors to the public in a cultural extravaganza March 21, 22 & 28, 29.
This year we proudly unveil our new look re-branding and we are ready to showcase and celebrate the wide range of genres, crafts and art styles ranging from the conventional through to the avant guarde and experimental.
Also we are presenting a sampler show to help you plan your route around the event. The sampler show will be held at 86 Taupo Quay, Wanganui from 10am – 4pm both weekends.

Annual General Meeting for The Whanganui Arts Marketing & Development Trust - Whanganui Artists Open Studios 2010. Thursday, 4 June 2009, 7:00 pm - Wanganui RSA 170 St Hill Street. Wanganui Arts Society Annual Exhibition 20th - 29th March 2009
This annual exhibition is to held in Autumn this year, as the people who set up the Arts Society in 1901 did. With exhibiting in March this gives the Society the opportunity to be involved in the Whanganui Open Artists Studio event, making it a perfect time.
The Society invites all members and other interested ‘arty farty’s’ in the Wanganui, South Taranaki and Manawatu district to submit up to four pieces of work for this exhibition, entry forms can be downloaded from www.wanganuiartsociety.co.nz ASAP.
There is a 1st, 2nd and 3rd cash prizes, also merit awards selected by local judges.
IMPORTANT DATES: Saturday 14th March: Artwork is to be dropped off at the Arts Society studio between 10am-3pm, Trafalgar Place, Cooks Gardens or artworks can be posted to P.O.Box 7256, Mid Avenue between the 10th–14th of March. Friday 20th March: 6pm Opening and award ceremony of the exhibition, at the Community Arts Centre, 19 Taupo Quay. Saturday 21st—29th March: The Wanganui Arts Society Annual Exhibition, 10am—4pm daily. Sunday 29th March: All selected and non-selected artwork is to be picked up between 4-5pm at the Community Arts Centre, 19 Taupo Quay & the Arts Society rooms.
